The Dolphin Nepalese Swimming Club HK has deep roots in the Hong Kong Nepalese community. After the brigade of Gurkha soldiers moved from Singapore to the Shek Kong camp in Hong Kong, the club was formed approximately in 1970 to exclusively teach swimming and water skills to the Gurkha soldier’s families.
Mr. Robin Ghale, who was a member of the Gurkha Brigade, took it upon himself to revive this long-standing tradition for the community, and has even taken it one step further to help teach everybody and anybody that has the desire to learn or improve their swimming skills. The response in Hong Kong has been nothing short of tremendous, as
Mr. Ghale has not only brought years of his skills originally from the military, but also his years of teaching in the Hong Kong International School. Coach Ghale has worked 15 years at Hong kong international school as a PE teacher assistant and Aquatic instructor. Coach Ghale, and staff, now are one of the most sought after swimming clubs in Hong Kong.
